100% waterproof and durable rainwear
We like play and mischief, which requires strong materials that can withstand climbing, puddles and slides. The knees and seat are especially reinforced on many of our rain pants as these areas are subjected to extra wear and tear.
Always taped or welded seams
To prevent water from seeping through the seams, we tape or weld them on our waterproof garments. The seams are the most critical areas of waterproof clothing, so it is important that they stay tight.
Galon® or shell garments?
The most important thing to keep children dry is to review the garment's construction. It is the construction and taped or welded seams that last over time that are crucial for the rainwear to keep the child dry. Our rainwear in both Galon® and shell materials are specially designed to keep out rain at all critical points, such as zippers, pockets and seams.
GALON®
A garment made in Galon® is a reliable friend under rainy clouds. It is a fully waterproof construction with OEKO-TEX® certified and PVC-free PU material with welded seams. Galon® is durable and does not need a water-repellent surface treatment or to be washed very often. Instead, you can easily wipe off dirt on the fabric with a damp cloth. The dense fabric does not let water molecules through, which keeps the body protected from the rain.
Care instructions Galon®
- Easy to keep clean - wipe with a damp cloth.
- If the garment needs to be washed, 40 degrees in the machine applies.
- Galon® can be damaged if the garment is exposed to high heat, therefore avoid drying cabinets and tumble dryers.
- Turn the rain clothes inside out If they are wet so they dry faster.
- Store Galon® hanging. It needs to be stored correctly to maintain its function. Therefore, avoid high heat, which can cause the material to stiffen or other unfavourable conditions where the humidity varies greatly, such as attic storage, basements or some closets.
SHELL GARMENTS
Shell rain sets breathe and are light and useful for everything from a rainy summer day to colder autumn days. Adjust the clothing under the shell garments based on needs; if the child gets warm, they can take off their sweater, but keep the jacket on for protection against rain and wind. Keep in mind that shell garments need to be re-impregnated from time to time, to maintain their water-repellent surface.
Care advice for shell garments
- Wash occasionally, but not more than necessary, as washing and tumble dryers wear down the material. Wash sometime per season or as needed.
- The treatment on the outside of the fabric allows water to run off the garment, and that effect gradually diminishes through use and washing. A little heat after washing, such as 5-10 minutes in the dryer or heating cabinet, reactivates that effect.
- If necessary, the garment can be re-impregnated with an impregnation spray free from fluorocarbons (PFC-free).
