    100% Polyamide
Polyamid is a synthetic material used in garments that need to be water repellent, lightweight, breathable or able to transport moisture away from the body – whether working in unison or on their own, depending on the function of the garment. For a specific garment's characteristics, see its product description.
The garment's material decides its characteristics and what functions the garment has.

Performance AttributesThis garment is not waterproof.

Below is a simple summary of which garments are waterproof based on a three-level scale. We have formulated our waterproofness scale based on the waterproofness of the material, whether the garment has taped or welded seams, and how the garment is constructed.

Drylevel_1.png Not waterproof - This garment is not waterproof and will not repel rain.
Drylevel_2.png Water-repellent - This garment is water-repellent and will repel light rain for a short length of time.
Drylevel_3.png Waterproof - This garment has a water column between 5,000-10,000mm and is fully waterproof, the material as well as the construction.
Performance AttributesShell - This is a shell garment and has no insulating properties.

Below is a simple summary of which garments have insulating properties. The warmth scale is based on a number of factors such as weight of padding, type of padding, length, and construction of the garment.

Remember that everyone experiences heat differently and some people feel the cold more than others. This scale is intended to provide a pointer regarding how warm a garment is.

Heat_1.png Shell - This is a shell garment and has no insulating properties.
Heat_2.png Warm - This garment is warm and has insulating properties with a padding level between 100-140 g/m².
Heat_3.png Extra warm - This garment is extra warm and has highly insulating properties with a padding level between 160-300 g/m².

Below is a simple summary of the breathability of our garments.

breathable_1.png No breathability - This garment has a low capacity for transporting moisture in the form of water vapour, which means that you may experience a damp, clammy feeling if you plan to wear the garment for any significant level of physical activity.
Breathable_2.png Breathability - This garment has a breathability level between 4,000-10,000 g/m²/24h and is made with the ability to transport water vapour through the fabric.
Breathable_3.png Mechanical breathability - This garment offers mechanical breathability, which means that we have incorporated one or more vents into the garment so that air can pass through. These vents are carefully positioned, so that water cannot penetrate the garment.

CXI – Innovation for the future

Didriksons, the Swedish jacket brand, is presenting their pilot project: the CXI jacket. The project aims to showcase the importance of knowledge throughout the entire value chain and finding partners with the same ambitions to reduce environmental impacts. With this project, Didriksons continues to show their dedication to driving innovation and urge to leading the industry towards smarter and more responsible solutions.

Reduced carbon footprint

The CXI jacket is the first jacket ever made with EcoLactam®, a polyamide raw material that has a carbon footprint 70% less than that of regular polyamide.* Over 80% of Didriksons’ carbon footprint comes from raw material extraction and material processing, so the significant reduction in carbon emissions is in line with its dedication to reducing its environmental impact.

Circularity and resource reduction

To create the garment with a circular mindset, the CXI jacket is made with a mono-material and trim-free design for a simplified future recycling process. Following Didriksons’ philosophy of responsible use of resources, the water-repellency is achieved through an innovative process that repurposes food waste, Bio-Logic® by Rudolf Group.

Enhanced traceability

Through this project, Didriksons has improved and refined its internal process of traceability throughout the value chain. Its long-term goal is to track every tier for every garment, from the raw material to the garment manufacturing. With knowledge and insights from every tier in the value chain, the right partners and processes can be selected, evaluated, and challenged for reduced climate impact throughout the production process.

Value chain for the CXI jacket:

Tier 4 Raw material: Fibrant, Netherlands

Tier 3 Yarn production: RadiciGroup, Italy

Tier 2 Fabric manufacturing: FOV Fabrics, Sweden

Tier 1 Garment manufacturing: Textilfabriken, Sweden

Tier 0 Brand: Didriksons, Sweden

"We want and need complete insights into our partners and their production processes throughout the value chain. This is to gain the essential knowledge necessary to take actions that make the largest positive impact."

Fanny Ekholm, CSR Manager, Didriksons

"As a raw material supplier, it is critical for us to be present across a brand’s value chain, given the added benefit we can provide. Usually, brands collaborate with Tier 1, 2 or Tier 3 partners in innovation projects. However, in this case, we were able to collaborate with Didriksons to develop a product from the ground up. Having a transparent and open dialogue between all partners from Tier 0 to Tier 4 was the foundation for the success of this project."
